2022 – Bryant James Tromly
It is certainly my honor to serve as President of the Mecklenburg Chapter, NCSSAR for 2022 alongside the rest of our Chapter Officers and our many Compatriots.
It is not lost on me that we enter this year coming through one of the most trying times in recent memory. Not just as a chapter but also as a nation and even a world. Despite what has occured I look to this year with more than cautious optimism. As an opportunity to revitalize ourselves and our chapter. As a chance to embark again on the missions set forth by the SAR.
“Let me recommend the best medicine in the world a long journey at a mild season through a pleasant country in easy stages.” -James Madison
As we have thankfully entered a milder season, let us look forward to another long journey here in the pleasant country of Mecklenburg County. We can never truly make up for time and those lost but certainly can certainly begin anew our activities and compatriotship.
The three missions of the SAR guide us in our service. These are as follows:
(1) honoring those who served the colonies in their struggle for independence during the American War for Independence;
(2) promoting core values of Constitutionalism, American ideals, and traditions; and
(3) shaping young minds by educating youth about the American political tradition.
In this year of 2022 I look forward to the ability to return our focus to each mission above through activities central to our chapter and organization. So please, keep an eye out for upcoming events and opportunities to come together once again!
I encourage current members of the SAR to give generously of their time and to support the SAR in its mission. The SAR is nothing without its members as we are an all-volunteer organization funded by membership dues and donations of money and time.
And, I encourage non-members who have an interest in our mission to contact us for help with tracing their own lineage back to a Patriot (or maybe many Patriots, as some of us have discovered) whose story is just one of the many examples of the providence of the American founding.
