speakers bureau
revolutionary war presentations
Since 2000, the Mecklenburg chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution has been speaking to groups, organizations and schools about the history of the Revolutionary War in Mecklenburg County, North and South Carolina.
Our Speaker’s Bureau is available to a variety of ages and audiences: elementary, junior high, high school and adult audiences. Our speakers are members of the Sons of the American Revolution and present interesting, fact-based talks about people, places and events of the Revolutionary War.
Our presentations are given with no charge and must be arranged at least 60 days prior to your requested date!
These presentations are focused on several key topics:
- History of the North Carolina Flag
- The Revolutionary War in Mecklenburg County
- Captain James Jack – Mecklenburg County Revolutionary War Hero
- The Hezekiah Alexander House & Charlotte Museum of History
- The SAR & Our Flag Retirement Program
- The Charlotte Liberty Walk
We try to accommodate as many requests as possible, but all of our presenters are volunteers and have other commitments a well.
If you are interested in our Revolutionary War Speaker’s Bureau, please email Tom Phlegar. We will try our best to coordinate the best speaker to your requested date!
