Dr. Tony Zeiss will be speaking about his book Backcountry Fury.

Older Americans will fondly remember the Disney television series Johnny Tremain that began in 1957. It featured a fictional young teenager who helped with the Revolutionary war as he was learning how to navigate through the formative years of life. Tony’s book, Backcountry Fury features a real teenager from South Carolina who fought in three Revolutionary War major battles and many smaller ones during 1780-81 during his formative years.

This story chronicles eighteen months in the life of sixteen-year-old Thomas Young from upstate, South Carolina. His memoirs provided the framework for this remarkable story which exemplifies sacrifice, courage, revenge and determination in his pursuit of liberty and justice with a new Republic.
